§ 01

Buying instead of building

I'd spent years starting things from zero. Precision Colors was a chance to do the opposite: take something that already worked and make it better. In March 2025 I acquired a company that had been serving the same niche for two decades — a real business, with real customers, and twenty years of hard-won trust to steward.

§ 02

A niche worth keeping

Precision Colors makes aftermarket inks and supplies for prosumer photo printers — the gear serious photographers use to make prints where color accuracy actually matters. It's not a mass market, and that's the point: it's a devoted community that has relied on these products for years, and being the person who keeps that going is a responsibility I take seriously.

§ 03

Steady hands

My job as the new owner is to modernize the parts that should move faster without breaking the parts that already work — the formulations, the catalog, and the reputation that twenty years built. Keep the trust, sharpen the operation.
