My name is Matt and I build things.

Software. Hardware. Businesses.

About me

Builder of things.

From Lego to IoT platforms to businesses, I love to build, grow, and nurture things.

I’ve been a builder since childhood—starting with Legos and eventually moving on to tearing apart old electronics, building PCs, and tinkering with Arduinos. That curiosity turned into a career of creating real-world products and businesses. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Advertising, I joined Dickson, a family-owned manufacturer, where I spent 15 years. I started in marketing, talking with customers at tradeshows, which led to the idea for DicksonOne—the company’s core platform. I later returned post-acquisition to lead product and oversee platform integration.

Now, I split my time between running a sock company with my wife, running an ink company I acquired, and helping others grow their product businesses.

Products, projects, and businesses

No Cold Feet™

My wife and I founded a sock company to better serve brides and grooms looking to add a splash of color or personality to their bridal party’s suits or tuxes while improving the available options and buying experience.

Almost a decade later, No Cold Feet is going strong but focused on the wider sock market and gifting options for moments that matter.

Precision Colors

In March of 2025, I acquired a 20-year-old company called Precision Colors that sells after-market printer ink for high-end consumer and prosumer photo printers. We look to carry on the legacy and grow the business into a sustainable and thriving business.

DicksonOne™

DicksonOne was born out of my marketing education and technical hobbies. Prototyped with an Arduino, launched as a skunk-works project, and slowly nurtured into a full-blown IoT platform, DicksonOne was an industry-leading product.

Fast forward 10+ years and the system is doing millions in ARR and serving some of the largest pharmaceutical, med device manufacturers, biotech, and

IoT Data Loggers

Over the last 15 years, I was directly responsible for the definition, design, manufacturing, and launch of eight different IoT Data Loggers including projects spanning WiFi, Ethernet, LoRa, and bluetooth.

I was also responsible for the full product life cycle for 25+ total products including sunsetting/on-going support.
